Lalit Modi is trying the carrot and stick method. He is pleading for an honorable exit. He claims he has worked incessantly for the last five years for the IPL without charging them any money. He has also threatened to spill all the beans, if his demands are not met. Apparently Lalit Modi knows so much that even bigwigs like Sharad Pawar, Vijay Mallaya and others would not like to cross swords with him.
Maratha stongman and NCP boss Sharad Pawar has stepped in to help Lalit Modi and broker peace between the warring camps. Pawar has been working overnight, burning the midnight oil trying to convince other BCCI senior members to give Modi five more days to prepare his defence.
Sharad Pawar has been trying to get BCCI Board President Shashank Manohar and Lalit Modi to speak to each other one-to-one. Sources say that Shashank Manohar and Lalit Modi haven’t spoken to each other for the last 10 days since things took a drastically bad turn.
